| Tuesday, November 3, 2009 | | 1 SAC Event: Native Vision | Native Vision is an interactive film, monologue piece about a young Navajo girl, Alice Benally who is taken from her home and placed in a government run boarding home in the 1930’s and 1940’s. She explores her family’s past while struggling to keep her culture in the government-ran boarding home. Her vision of becoming a modern healer for her community lands her in WWII fighting for the U.S. There will be discussion during and following the film piece. Come check out this amazing story during Native history month on November 3rd from 10:30AM- 1:0PM in the Sasquatch room of the lair (bldg 6). Sponsored by the SAC. |
